Dr. Sarah Louise Nash

Postdoctoral Researcher, political scientist, author, speaker

Dr. Sarah Louise Nash is a political scientist and currently works as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Continuing Education Krems (Danube University) and the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna. She is currently a holder of a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Individual Fellowship from the European Commission, which began in March 2020. Her research concentrates on politics and policy at the intersection of climate change and human mobilities. She approaches the questions related to this field from a critical, discourse analytical perspective. Her research concentrates on international political processes as well as European nation states.

Nash holds a PhD in Political Science from the University of Hamburg, an MSc in Human Rights and International Politics from the University of Glasgow, an MA in German and Politics from the University of Edinburgh and a BA in Political Science from the University of Vienna. Before she started working at BOKU, she was an Mercator-IPC fellow at Istanbul Policy Center in Istanbul.

Her first book ‘Negotiating Migration in the Context of Climate Change. International Policy and Discourse’ was published in 2019 with Bristol University Press and awarded the 2021 ‘Recognition Prize’ of the Federal State of Lower Austria.
